­Program Supervisor for Youth and Teen Programs

This is a full-time position responsible for the administration of the daily operation and programming of our Kindergarten Enrichment Program, the After School Recreation program, youth and teen art and craft programs and as director of our grade school age summer day camp and director of our teen age summer day camp.

Individual must be positive, organized, have an excellent work ethic, and be able to effectively direct and manage a wide range of projects and tasks simultaneously. Applicants must have excellent customer service and communication skills.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, SKILLS, & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation or closely related field from an accredited college or university preferred (not required).
  • Two or more years of demonstrated success as an afterschool and/or day camp programmer, or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
  • Acquire and retain a CDL drivers license.
  • Organize and directs arts and craft youth and teen programs.
  • Organize and directs the Kindergarten Enrichment Program, including planning implementation and evaluation.
  • Organize and directs the After School Recreation Program, including planning implementation and evaluation.
  • Organize and directs Blues Buster Summer Day Camp, including planning implementation and evaluation.
  • Organize and directs Teens On The Go Summer Day Camp, including planning implementation and evaluation.
  • Handles communication with parents of participants for area of responsibility.
  • Handles marketing and advertisement for all current and new programs in area of responsibility.
  • Ability to work independently in day-to-day operations with general direction from the Executive Director.
  • Provide management to staff through training, coaching, directing, supervising and evaluating performance.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the existing programs and submits recommendations for fee and program changes.
  • For all areas of responsibility this individual provides direct leadership and contact to patrons and participants; this provides an opportunity to better evaluate staff and the programs in general.
  • Prepare annual budget projections and monitor revenue and expenses for applicable program areas.
  • Recommend budget and monitor expenses and revenues to ensure compliance with budget mandates within area of responsibility.
  • Establish good working relationships with patrons, the community and the general public.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned, including but not limited to special events planned implemented and evaluated as a staff member and a coordinator.
  • Willingness to work some evening and weekend hours is required.

This is a salaried, exempt position that reports to the Executive Director.
